The Tonga Tourist Association (TTA) was established since 1980 for the purpose of promoting to and within the Kingdom of Tonga generally and in particular the following;

 
1)      To co-ordinate the services and facilities of persons engaged in the tourist, travel and accommodation industries in Tonga whereby the Kingdom is             better developed as a holiday destination.

2)      To foster and encourage the improvement of tourist facilities within the Kingdom.

3)      To publish such brochures, articles and other information detailing the services and facilities available for tourists within the Kingdom for the purpose of
          improving and increasing visitors traffic. Also to take advantage of opportunities on the internet and e-commerce.

4)      To make such recommendations to the Minister responsible for Tourism in the Government of Tonga as it may think fit for attaining these purposes.

5)      To represent the private sector o the tourism industry in Tonga and to send representatives to trade fairs, seminars and similar meetings                
         and promotional activities as it may from time to time determine.

6)      To do all such things as may be necessary to ensure the attainment of the above objectives.
