The Tonga Ministry of Tourism in collaboration with the Tonga Tourism Community are finalizing the program for the 2012 'Eva Mai Tonga Tourism Experience (ETTE). 'Eva Mai is scheduled to run from the 6-10 of March with buyers starting to arrive on the 5 of March. This is the 3rd year that the 'Eva Mai has been carried out and it has grown each year. The 'Eva Mai Tonga Tourism Experience is a Program targeted at the Travel Trade providing them opportunities to travel to Tonga and sell Tonga with confidence. Read more.....

From January 19th, Air Pacific, Fiji’s International Airline, started upgrading its Fiji to Hong Kong service to B747-400 jumbo jet service on Thursday and Saturdays in recognition of its commitment to a growing Hong Kong and China market. “This is consistent with our commitment and enhanced focus on China,” said David Pflieger, Air Pacific’s Managing Director and CEO. The route has been planned to offer optimum convenience to visitors and business travelers to Fiji and its 333 islands.  Read more.....

The South Pacific Tourism Organisation (SPTO) is pleased to confirm that the European Union signed the 10th European Development Fund (EDF10) contract between EDF Regional Authorising Officer, the Secretary General of the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat (PIFS), and the South Pacific Tourism Organisation (SPTO) as well as with the Oceania Customs Organisation (OCO) Secretariat. The South Pacific Tourism Organisation is the mandated inter-governmental body for the tourism sector in the region, with the mission to "Market and Develop Tourism in the South Pacific".

South Pacific Tourism Organisation members include the Pacific Island nations of the Cook Islands (Cooks), Fiji, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Nauru, New Caledonia, Niue, Samoa, Solomons, Tahiti (French Polynesia), Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu and Papua New Guinea (PNG).  The People's Republic of China is also a country member of the South Pacific Tourism Organisation.

The South Pacific Tourism Organisation is dedicated to facilitating the sustainable development of the tourism sector in the South Pacific, thus contributing to pillar one of the Pacific Plan (economic growth).
