New Caledonia Tourism is pleased to announce the latest visitor arrivals from New Zealand to New Caledonia have been very positive, with an overall increase of 33.5% as at 31 October 2000 compared to the same period last year.

This positive result has been led by an increased awareness of the close proximity of New Caledonia to New Zealand (only 2.5 hours ex Auckland), additional airline capacity this year with Aircalin operating an Airbus, & NZ wholesalers providing excellent value-added packages.

In 2001 Club Med will relaunch their "Kids Play/Stay/Eat for Free family package in conjunction with Aircalin (Fly Free), which received an excellent response this year. Families are attracted to the close proximity of the destination, beachfront location and excellent value-added inclusions such as all meals and entertainment / sport facilities at Club Med Chateau Royal.

Effective 1st January 2001, New Caledonia Tourism Auckland office will be restructured. Julie Cassin who has been with New Caledonia Tourism in Auckland for the past 13 years, will be appointed as Sales & Promotional Consultant relocating to alternative premises. Although the physical address of New Caledonia Tourism will change, all contact details will remain the same.
